Passenger’s Contactless Journeys capability, launched first with Go-Ahead’s Brighton & Hove Bus in July 2022, has been enhanced with a new expense export feature.

Riders are now able to export the previous 30 days of their journeys and charges to a PDF. This will provide them with a copy of their charges so they can easily submit expenses to their employer.

The exported PDF shows the date of the export, the date range for the data, basic card information, the sum total of all the charges, and then a breakdown of the fares that contribute to each charge in the date range.

As a platform capability update, the export functionality is already accessible on websites and in apps for Passenger operators. Users simply navigate to Contactless Journeys, view the journeys for the payment card they are interested in if they have linked multiple cards to their account, and tap ‘Export history’. This will download the completed charges for the previous 30 days as a PDF.

The new Contactless Journeys expense export can be uploaded easily to the majority of expense tracking apps, making bus travel for business purposes a seamless experience to manage.

Passenger was recently highlighted by Passenger Transport magazine as the driving force in a massive improvement in public transport apps over the last three years.
