Warrington’s Own Buses enhances services with new website and app

Warrington’s Own Buses has unveiled new technology to boost uptake in public transport in the town, powered by UK public transport and app provider, Passenger.

The operator’s new website will allow travellers quicker and more efficient ways to plan journeys. In addition to live bus tracking, the new web to mobile eCommerce function means travellers can now access website purchased tickets on their mobiles. The operator’s new and improved app also allows travellers to see up to date network information, in addition to buying tickets.

The launch comes as Warrington Borough Council develops the town’s Bus Service Improvement Plan (BSIP). All local authorities are required to have BSIPs in place by October 2021 as part of the government’s National Bus Strategy, which aims to improve the quality of bus services and provision across the UK.

Warrington’s Own Buses operate over 85% of services and vehicles in Warrington. The company has a fleet of 120 buses in total, operating around 5 million kilometres in service and carrying over six million passengers per year.
