Passenger has announced the renewal of its contract with Hertfordshire County Council (HCC), extending a successful partnership that began five years ago. This renewed collaboration underscores HCC’s commitment to providing excellent public transport information and services to its residents, efficiently facilitated through The National Mobilities Procurement Hub from SAM.
Passenger, known for its innovative digital public transport information solutions, has been instrumental in running HCC’s popular Intalink website. This platform serves as a vital resource for the general public, providing comprehensive travel information from all bus operators across the Hertfordshire region, including real-time departure updates and timely timetable changes.
Alex Westrop, Intalink Publicity & Information Team Leader at HCC, comments, “Intalink is a one-stop shop for public transport information across Hertfordshire. We’re delighted to be continuing to deliver the service using Passenger’s public transport customer experience platform backed by the team’s expertise.”
The continued partnership with Passenger is set to enhance the Intalink platform further, ensuring that Hertfordshire residents continue to receive accurate, up-to-the-minute public transport information. This commitment to digital innovation and accessible travel information is a key component of HCC’s broader efforts to promote and improve public transport usage throughout the county.
Gemma Vasellina-Turner, Customer Success Manager at Passenger comments, “We’re really pleased to continue working in partnership with HCC to deliver the Intalink website, providing essential bus timetables, service updates, and ticketing information to residents and visitors across the county.”

The decision by HCC to utilise the National Mobilities Procurement Hub from SAM for this contract renewal underscores a strategic approach to public sector procurement. This framework is designed to streamline and simplify the process of acquiring services, ensuring both efficiency and value. By leveraging the framework, HCC benefits from a pre-vetted supplier network and accelerated procurement timelines. This method allows public sector organisations to access cutting-edge solutions more quickly and cost-effectively.
Dr Andrew Seedhouse, Chairman at Smart Applications Management, comments, “The use of The National Mobilities Procurement Hub and the success of the framework in facilitating such partnerships, is key to enabling Local Authorities such as Hertfordshire to accessing high quality suppliers, such as Passenger easily and quickly to deliver improved services to its residents and the wider public sector. We look forward to working with both as the partnership develops.”
