Introducing the ‘PSIP’ – Our pledge for 2022

A look back at 2021, and introducing our 'Passenger Service Improvement Plan' - our pledge for the year ahead and beyond.

As 2021 comes to a close, we wanted to share with you our promise for the future, a Passenger Service Improvement Plan, if you will.The ‘PSIP’ is our pledge to continue delivering ambitious and lasting change to bus operations, and to further develop inclusion and access through collaboration.

The Passenger Service Improvement Plan outlines our commitment to strengthen partnerships, support industry to build back better and increase passenger numbers by empowering people to choose the bus

As operators come together to form Enhanced Partnerships and franchises, we all share a vision to dramatically improve bus services. Our PSIP captures the next stage of our journey.

With regular feedback from passengers across the UK, we have a unique insight into what gives them the confidence to choose shared transport. As operators work closer together than ever before, to make services faster, more reliable and more frequent, we will keep evolving the technology that makes it easier for passengers to plan their journeys and purchase the right ticket to get there.

Our Innovation Programme forms a key part of this, providing opportunities to meet, talk and share experiences and ideas, and we can’t wait to see you at these. With luck, 2022 will also see our return to industry events, where we will showcase the latest Passenger product news.

Over years of working in transport technology, learning from operators and creating innovative digital solutions to meet industry challenges, we have ensured that our products meet the highest possible accessibility standards. In addition, we have strived to address industry imbalances, such as disproportionate gender splits in staffing. Our Inclusion Guild is a new initiative focused on encouraging both diversity and inclusion to bring the best out of employees and develop products that can be used by all, and we are excited to share our learnings in 2022.

Developing eco-friendly and active transport networks is now critical for a planet on the brink of climate crisis, and our PSIP pledge is recognition of our support for that goal – across every inch of the UK’s public transport network.
