Passenger continues to expand its transport app and website footprint following the award of a new Intalink website for Hertfordshire County Council.
As Hertfordshire County Council becomes the first local authority to adopt an Enhanced Partnership with local transport operators, the Intalink website will provide a focal point for passenger transport information in the county.
Working with HCC partners Systra, Journeo and Hogia, Passenger will lead the delivery of a new county-wide journey planning and real-time information website for passengers across more than 25 operators.
Tom Quay, CEO at Passenger said “We are so excited to be helping Hertfordshire County Council achieve their transport goals. When local authorities are able to deliver on investing and developing public transport services, it kickstarts social, economic and environmental changes that benefit communities and their residents, and we love to be part of that”.
This latest deployment of Passenger’s multi-operator product for local authorities will combine more than 25 operators across the ten districts in Hertfordshire.
Hertfordshire County Council awarded the contract to Passenger following a competitive tender process, recognising Passenger’s track record of excellent delivery.
Hertfordshire County Council Passenger Transport Manager Matt Lale said: “The award decision was unanimous given Passenger’s experience in the public transport arena and the success of projects they had completed with other local authorities. We are certainly looking forward to working with them. We have a complete commitment to providing our residents with services that benefit them and a large part of that begins with residents having access to passenger transport information that is easy to use”.
Hertfordshire County Council have adopted an Enhanced Partnership for Intalink, and will be the first local authority in the country to do so. Working more closely with operators and local authorities, they will improve and enhance the existing bus network, infrastructure and service delivery with five key objectives:
- Prioritising bus and coach services in traffic
- Closer integration of the bus network
- Improving the image of bus travel
- Smarter use of data and information
- Upgrading bus infrastructure.
