The Passenger team came together this week to support the nationwide annual Great British Beach Clean initiative by organising and taking part in a local event at Alum Chine Beach.
Working in collaboration with BCP Council’s Leave Only Footprints campaign, 10 staff members from Passenger spent an afternoon helping remove litter from Alum Chine Beach.
£500,000 a year is spent keeping beaches across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole clean, with volunteers collecting around 2,000 tonnes of waste annually.
Dolly Gulliford, Head of Operations at Passenger commented: “As a Bournemouth business, we believe we have an important role in supporting the town and its most cherished areas. Alum Chine is known for its popularity among locals and young families. Events like the beach clean are also a great way to bring our staff together and get them actively involved in a cause which aligns with Passenger’s dedication to improving sustainability.”
A Leave Only Footprints spokesperson said; “It’s always great to see local companies like Passenger supporting the coastline, helping to maintain our award-winning beaches and spread the very simple Leave Only Footprints message.”
