Newbury & District goes live with new Passenger website
Following the consistently strong performance of Newbury and District’s Passenger app, the operator launches a dynamic new website and a fresh digital experience for customers.
2nd Dec 2024
Newbury & District has launched a brand-new website, providing an enhanced digital experience for its customers. Built on the same innovative software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform used by other leading bus operators, the website offers a modern, user-friendly design and a host of features designed to make journey planning easier than ever.
The website launch follows the consistently strong performance of Newbury and District’s Passenger app over the last few years. The apps are rated 4.8* average ratings across iOS and Android devices, making them some of the highest-rated bus apps in the market.
Newbury & District’s new website leverages the trusted SaaS platform developed by Passenger, which already powers successful websites for Reading Buses and Thames Valley, both from the same group of operating companies.
As with these other operators, Newbury & District customers can expect:
-
Live Bus Tracking: Keep up-to-date with the exact location of your bus in real time.
-
Intuitive Journey Planner: Plan your trip effortlessly, with accurate route and timetable information.
-
Mobile-Friendly Design: A seamless experience across all devices, whether you’re at home or on the go.
-
Simplified Ticket Purchasing: Access the ticketing options you need, right from your smartphone or computer.
It incorporates the platform’s real-time bus fare information capability, launched by Passenger in February 2024, enabling Newbury & District to share its fare information with customers easily. The feature uses the NeTEx data standard and was developed in collaboration with lead operators, including Reading Buses, Newbury & District’s parent company.
These features are part of a broader commitment to improving how passengers engage with bus services, making public transport more accessible and convenient.
The team at Newbury & District couldn’t be happier with the launch of the new site. Speaking about the development, Reading Buses CEO Robert Williams said, “We’re thrilled to unveil our new website to our customers. It’s a big step forward in improving how people interact with our services, and we’re confident it will make a real difference in their travel experience.”
This launch underscores a shared commitment among UK bus operators to innovate and improve. With Passenger’s SaaS platform providing the foundation, Newbury & District joins a growing network of operators enhancing customer experiences while streamlining operations.
If you haven’t yet explored the new website, head over to Newbury & District’s website and take a look for yourself. Whether planning your next journey or checking live bus times, everything you need is just a click away.
