Passenger launches in-app verification at Transport Ticketing 2020

Passenger will launch it’s in-app ID verification system at Transport Ticketing Global 2020 in London’s Olympia next week.
The new machine learning-based system replaces time-consuming ID checks done by drivers and travel centre staff and underlines Passenger’s mission to put public transport operators at the heart of smart cities through the delivery of great customer experience in operator apps and websites.
Passenger’s new app verification feature delivers operational efficiencies to operators, who will no longer need to manually check a customer’s passport, driving license or similar in order to retail a specific ticket type. The service will provide a transformational customer experience for passengers, often college and university students, who will be able to purchase restricted tickets entirely through an operator’s app, in a matter of minutes.
The new service becomes the latest addition to Passenger’s highly rated transport mobile app and website platform, designed specifically for bus operators. Transport Ticketing Global is the world’s largest event dedicated to smart ticketing and mobility, making it the perfect event to unveil Passenger’s latest developments.
From next week, the new in-app ID verification service will be available to all Passenger’s Premium customers throughout the UK and Ireland. Later in the year, the service will also become available as a stand-alone service allowing operators to include ID verifications in apps not powered by Passenger.
